about me

I began taking dog portraits in 2014 when I was inspired by my rescue dog Daisy. I had been a working photographer for years and an animal lover for life - I found myself pulled by the idea of bringing together these two passions of mine.

I studied photography at The School of Visual Arts in NYC in the early 1980s where I mastered many traditional photographic processes and although I mostly shoot digitally now, I approach my photography using the principles I learned then. I spent months finding a way to process my digital images so they would echo the distinctive feel of my old silver darkroom prints.

My goal is to make beautiful, emotionally stirring photographs for you to take pleasure in for years to come. I create unique, timeless portraits, specialising in images of dogs and their owners - at the heart of family for so many of us. I use natural settings and a relaxed approach to connect with each of my subjects and capture their unique personality, beauty and spirit.

If you’re interested in my pictures, would like to book a session with me or if you just want to ask me some questions, please email me at info@suzyflood.com, or click here - without any obligation: it would be a pleasure to hear from you.

experience

After earning a degree in fine art photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, I went on to enjoy a successful career as a graphic designer and photographer for Condé Nast, Hearst, Time Inc. and The New York Times Magazine Group both in the United States and London, my home since 2003. I live in Marylebone, very close to Baker Street with my daughter and my little yellow dog Lola.

I have volunteered with The Dog Hub in Primrose Hill/Camden and ZSL London Zoo.
